The Great Leaders is a series that stages major international political figures through irony and satire. Far from official portraits or heroic representations, Olivier Bellet depicts these leaders in fragile, absurd, or unsettling situations that reveal the vanity behind power. Driven by oversized egos, authoritarian postures, and warlike ambitions, these figures appear disconnected from the human consequences of their decisions. Through symbolic compositions and dark humor, the series questions the cult of personality, political spectacle, and the dangerous fascination with domination and power. Behind the apparent caricature lies a more tragic observation: the ambitions and rivalries of a few individuals often become the suffering of entire peoples and, ultimately, a threat to humanity itself.
